Styling an Oversized Blazer and Biker Shorts
Hi loves! This week I have a pep I’m my step because I booked my flight to go home to see my family and friends in March. Looking forward to a trip home makes living so far away a bit easier. Until I leave for my trip, I’ll be enjoying my favorite winter months in Dubai. Winter in Dubai is a magical time were a light sweater or blazer will suffice to keep you warm, and everyone sits outside at restaurants and bars.
Here I’ve styled an oversized checked blazer from Asos (similar here). There is something so alluring about wearing a blazer that looks like it’s from a man’s closet. This blazer gives me powerful, boss babe vibes and I’m living for it.
Whenever I do an oversized blazer, I like to cinch in the waist to give it some shape and accentuate my figure. I believe any body type can wear any trend. It’s all about making the trend work to flatter your body best, and belts are my best friend when it comes to making oversized trends work for my curves. The Off-White houndstooth blazer with the attached signature yellow industrial belt inspired me, so I added my Off-white belt to this look. The yellow of the belt brings out the yellow stitching in the blazer perfectly.
Under the blazer, I am wearing an Old Navy tank top. Old Navy is one of my best-kept secrets for basics that are inexpensive and well made. I buy 90% of my basic camis, tank tops, and solid color t-shirts there.
Biker shorts are such a versatile staple I recommend adding to any wardrobe. Recently I have been playing with so many different ways to wear mine, and I have been surprised by how many outfits they work with. Biker shorts are also an option for more modest and stylish shorts to wear in Dubai. I ordered mine from the Asos tall range so they would be even longer and hit just above the knee.
My vintage bag, from my mom’s closet, and Stuart Weitzman “Nudest” heels add the perfect ladylike vibe to an otherwise boyish style outfit. I love mixing masculine and feminine pieces to create an androgynous look.
What do you think of this look?
